There is nothing particular in building this multiple columns financial statement.
The balances shown within the first three columns and first two rows are cells initialized with the ‘Item Balance’ FSM button
and the other balances are cells initialized with the ‘Total’ FSM button.
Comparative presentation
To get the comparative presentation (column 2009 Total)
1- Copy the columns
2- Select the range of cells
3- Click the Select Period button
4- Check the period and click OK.
To present only the ‘Total’ column for comparison, simply hide the other columns
and finalize the report by centering the headers rows (rows 1, 3, and 5)
Issue with Details button in a multiple columns report
In a financial statement where the columns of a row show the item balances of different financial periods for the same item,
selecting an item balance and clicking the 'Details' button toggles the accounts grouped in that item and the accounts balances of each financial period.
In a financial statement where the columns of a row show the item balances for different items, the result of selecting an item balance and clicking the 'Details' button might look awkward.
Solution
Copy the item balances, along with the item title, on different rows,
then select the item balances and click the 'Details' button.
